Sound Check

Sound check. It’s sound check time.  The noise from the amphitheatre we built travels across the crush pad I spent so much time on, over the vines we planted and up the hill to the house I thought I owned.  Finish the moonshine just brought back from Tennessee and close all the windows.  The sound has arrived. The music is here, it’s just a bit deadened.  Now pull the drapes.  The beautiful sunny sparkly day becomes a wall of taupe.

There was a time when I had the idea to fill this property with music because music in all its loveliness brings people together. I said “If I’m going to live here we might as well have fun”.  Now I find myself trying to drown it out in one way or another. I could go somewhere, but I’m tired of running away.

Funny how your life can change in  one year.  Funny peculiar.  Not funny ha ha.

I love your vulnerability….. you are so brave to let it show.
Thank you… always… for inspiring me … xo

You have created a monster? Living in Hunts Pt is sooo quiet! Probably pisses you off to hear that …. My brother is visiting and we are sipping a Blomiden rose.

I suspect the pendulum will begin swinging the other way again, sooner than later.

Someday maybe not so soon, I hope you will strut onto that dance grass and yell Hell Ya! I made this place! Because you did. And people still come, even though you are not there, because things and places DO NOT DEFINE US!! Unbidden, unwanted events happened to you, it does not make you who you are. Change is coming. Best practice to focus on what you want, not what you lost. Draw the curtains but put your own music on and start dancing til your daughter gets embarrassed. And thank you for creating a beautiful place for those about to rock 🤘 XO, Z
